Claws Of Power Buildings, Factory & Talents
The base side of Claws Of Power — fish income, base health, and gold-bought talents from the March 17 notes.
The Steam store page splits progression into collect cats, upgrade your buildings, purchase items, match equipment, then Lord Challenge. The buildings line is short and official: enhance your base to increase its health, and upgrade the Dried Fish Factory to boost production speed.
The March 17, 2026 trial notes redesigned that into a main-city upgrade system with talents. This page sticks to those texts.
Dried Fish Factory
Dried fish is the summon currency. Cats do not deploy for gold; they deploy for fish. Factory upgrades make fish arrive faster so you can send the waves described in Getting Started instead of a one-cat trickle.
There is no official public table of fish-per-second per factory level. Do not trust a wiki that prints “+15% per tier” without a patch note. Upgrade the factory when you can afford a three-cat wave but the bar is still the bottleneck. If the bottleneck is that you spend every fish instantly, a factory level will not save you.
Base health and Base EXP
Store copy: upgrading the base increases its health. March 17: players gain experience through battles; when EXP hits a threshold the main base automatically upgrades and gains a small amount of health. You are not always clicking a hammer — sometimes the base levels itself.
August 25, 2026 increased the amount of Base EXP earned from main story stages. If your base feels behind, play campaign nodes, not invented daily dungeons. Hard Mode is the gold farm after the credits, not the Base EXP farm the August 25 note describes.
Main-city talents
As the base level rises, main base talents are unlocked and activated by spending gold coins. Steam did not publish the talent list. This wiki will not invent “30 new talents” or a skill tree screenshot. Open the talent panel in your build and spend gold on the nodes you can read.
Gold sources that are documented:
- Campaign kills (units absorbed by Muryan failed to grant gold or EXP — fixed August 26).
- Hard Mode gold doubled plus Midas Touch (August 23).
- Mercenaries also cost gold, so do not empty the purse on talents the night before a challenge you keep failing.
Mercenaries and the Shop
March 17: after failing a challenge level several times, units you can hire with gold appear to help you complete it. That is a building-adjacent safety net, not a cat unlock.
August 26: unlocking the Shop grants Garrison Whistle. The Shop is part of the city loop even though the whistle is a battle item (How to Use Items).
Idle system and Cloud saves
The August 7 demo update added a complete idle system, a complete save system, and Steam Cloud Save. The full game still lists Steam Cloud as a store category. Idle is a real system; Steam did not publish an idle-gold-per-minute figure, so we will not print one.
If a talent or factory level vanished after a crash, check Cloud first, then the August 29 missing equipment fix in case the bug spilled into other inventories.
Windowed mode, speed, and the city screen
March 17 added windowed mode and custom resolution. August 26 started saving selected game speed. August 25 added Attack Range, Attack Interval, and Knockback Strength to attribute descriptions so you can actually read whether a talent or unit is doing the job. Use those numbers instead of a fan-made DPS sheet.
The map Equipment shortcut (launch-week notice) is the quality-of-life link between the city and the equipment panel. Socket gems remain a store-page promise tied to strongholds; no patch has spelled out a socket building yet.
A clean city order
- Factory until three-cat waves are possible.
- Let Base EXP from story stages raise HP.
- Unlock Shop for Garrison Whistle.
- Spend gold on talents you can read, not on rumours.
- Keep a gold buffer for mercenaries on challenge stages.
- After the 93, put Midas Touch on and run Hard Mode to fund the rest.
For who those fish actually summon, return to How to Build a Deck.
Frequently Asked Questions
Fast answers to the questions players ask most.
What does the Dried Fish Factory do?
The Steam store page says upgrading it boosts production speed of dried fish, the resource you spend to summon cats.
How do main-city talents work?
The March 17 trial notes say battles grant EXP, the base auto-upgrades and gains health, and talents unlock to be activated with gold.
Should I spend all my gold on talents?
No. Mercenaries also cost gold after repeated challenge failures. Keep a buffer for the stages you actually cannot clear.
Does the game have an idle system?
Yes. The August 7, 2026 demo update listed a complete idle system and Steam Cloud Save. No official idle rates were published.
