Confirmed upcoming patches

1.4.0 — Winter patch — Purple Dawn season

Window: January 2027.

  • New legendary cat: Onyx (already mentioned in the current tier list).
  • New dungeon: Aurora (level 60+).
  • 2-player cooperative rework.
  • New seasonal tournament mode.

1.5.0 — Spring patch — Golden Sands season

Window: April 2027.

  • 2 new epic cats (desert theme).
  • Permanent PvP arena mode.
  • New item enchanting system.

The studio mentioned several long-term axes without precise dates:

  • Cross-play between Steam and Steam Deck (technically already functional, but not officially supported).
  • Console ports (PS5, Xbox Series) — under consideration, no confirmed window.
  • Creator mode allowing players to build custom levels.

These items are not in the official schedule. We add them here only when the studio confirms a window.

The best sources for live announcements:

  1. The official Garlic Sprouts Discord — #announcements channel, where the studio posts within an hour of Steam.
  2. Steam announcements on the game’s store page.
  3. Studio streams on Twitch, where dates are often teased in advance.

This page is updated within 24 hours of every official announcement.

How we confirm roadmap items

An item only appears in the “Confirmed upcoming” section once Garlic Sprouts has posted an official announcement on Discord, Steam, or a developer stream. Speculation and leaks are kept out — we would rather show a shorter, accurate list than a longer, speculative one.

Roadmap changes

When Garlic Sprouts shifts a roadmap date, we update the entry on this page within 24 hours and add a small note explaining the change (e.g. “shifted from January to February due to bug found late in QA”). The original window is preserved in the page history for transparency.

When Garlic Sprouts confirms a new roadmap item, it appears on this page within 24 hours of the official announcement.

How Garlic Sprouts commits to roadmap items

Garlic Sprouts splits its roadmap into three confidence tiers: Confirmed (in active development, scheduled), Targeted (in active development, no firm date) and Speculative (planned, no development work yet). Items in the Confirmed tier ship within 90 days with a 90 percent historical hit rate. Items in the Targeted tier have shipped within six months historically, with a 60 percent hit rate. Items in the Speculative tier have shipped within twelve months historically, with a 30 percent hit rate — these are the ones we mark with a small “may slip” note on the wiki.

What is not on the public roadmap

The studio does not publicly commit to balance changes, code drops, or seasonal events. These are decided on a patch-by-patch basis. If you want to know whether a code drop is coming, your best signal is the Active codes page — when a new code drops, the wiki mirrors it within an hour. If you want to know whether a balance pass is coming, your best signal is the S-Tier Cats page — when a meta-defining change ships, the wiki reshuffles the top five within 48 hours.

How to suggest a roadmap item

Garlic Sprouts reads the Steam discussions every Monday. The most useful suggestions include a specific scenario (which level, which cats, which items), a specific failure mode (the player loses X cats by the Y second mark), and a specific ask (a small buff to the cat’s passive, a 10 percent cooldown reduction, etc). Suggestions that read like “buff everything” are not actionable and do not get prioritised.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Fast answers to the questions players ask most.

Are the roadmap dates final?

No. They are indicative windows. The studio can shift a patch by a few weeks if a critical bug is identified late.

Is cross-play planned?

The studio has mentioned it publicly, but no window is confirmed. Technically, the game already runs between PC and Steam Deck (sharing the Steam ecosystem).

Will paid content increase?

The current business model stays: cats, dungeons, and campaigns are free. Only skins and the season pass cost money.
