Claws Of Power Lord Challenge & Bosses

Store-page Lord fights, the three named mini-bosses, and Endless Duanzang — all single-player PvE.

Last updated:

The Steam store page has a dedicated pillar: Lord Challenge — “If you feel powerful enough, you can challenge powerful lords and receive generous rewards.” It does not publish an unlock stage number, a ticket cost, or a weekly rotation. This page therefore treats Lord Challenge as the named-boss layer of a single-player campaign, not as a ranked 4v4.

The three mini-bosses from the countdown

The “2 Days Until Battle” Steam post (August 20, 2026) names the personalities:

  • Duancang — “His blade is sharp, but his tongue is even sharper. Even in defeat, he will never admit that he has lost.” Read this as a duel with a talkative swordsman, not a raid timer.
  • Degumiao — “Proud and obsessed with cleanliness. He doesn’t mind a fight—just don’t get his clothes dirty.” A precision fight; messy AoE may not be the fantasy they wrote.
  • Father — “The true final boss — and the ultimate trial you must overcome.” The August 29, 2026 patch fixed Snowball (Xuebao) failing to trigger collision with Father in phase two, so Father is at least two phases and Xuebao is an intended tool in that phase.

Bring Xuebao to Father after that patch. Bring a knockback cat (Xiao Fu) if Duancang’s blade walk is shoving your backline. Degumiao is a good test for Charge Horn discipline — do not sprint filthy units into a pride fight if the joke is cleanliness.

Endless Duanzang

The Next Fest demo notes added Endless Duanzang on the Boss Stage:

  • Endless waves while you strengthen the lineup during the run
  • Upgrade units
  • Purchase powerful one-time-use items
  • Experiment with combinations

Live patches still mention Endless Boss: a launch-week fix restored damage for a short window after an Endless Boss advanced to the next tier. If your damage suddenly does nothing after a tier-up, update past that notice.

Endless is not Hard Mode. Hard Mode is 44 stages after the credits. Endless is a survival boss mode with in-run shops. See Hard Mode for the 44.

The vampire cat (themed lord, not a countdown name)

Garlic Sprouts’ TapTap post “Meet the Vampire Boss Cat” describes a later-stage fight: bats circle and fuse into a huge vampire cat, then a black energy orb goes down the lane, the vampire moves with its troops, and lightning can wipe the lane. The same post mentions a Gatling muscle cat, a blue tiger cat, and a knight-on-tank “face-riding” duo. Those are developer footage of a lord-style encounter. They are not a fourth mini-boss name from Steam. Use the footage as a warning: lane-wide wipes exist. Hold Position Whistle and fighting near your base matter more when lightning is in the kit.

Meow Mine and mercenaries on lords

Meow Mine (March 17) summons a Boss to assist you. That can be a lord-fight equaliser; it can also clutter a lane that already has Jack Hero. Try it on a lord you have already seen once.

Mercenaries appear after you fail a challenge level several times. Lord-style challenges are the obvious place that safety net was built for. Spend gold instead of rerolling the save.

Rewards — what we can actually say

The store page says “generous rewards.” No official post lists a lord-exclusive legendary named Magenta or a season cape. Do not expect a ranked chest. Expect the same currencies the rest of the game uses: gold, Base EXP, maybe gear. Socket gems are a store-page pillar tied to “conquer one stronghold after another”; lords are the likely strongholds, but Steam has not published a socket table, so we will not invent one.

Prep checklist

  1. Campaign deck that can hold a line — How to Build a Deck.
  2. Garrison Whistle unlocked from the Shop.
  3. Extra slots on A-Dai / Fat Cat / Xiaofu / Big Orange if they are in the fight.
  4. Xuebao for Father phase two.
  5. Current Steam build (August 29 fixes Father collision, missing equipment, White’s infinite dash).

For the 93-stage route that leads here, use Campaign Walkthrough. For gold to pay mercenaries and talents, use Hard Mode after the credits.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Fast answers to the questions players ask most.

When does Lord Challenge unlock?

The store page only says to try it if you feel powerful enough. No official stage number was published, so this wiki does not invent one.

Duancang, Degumiao, and Father, named in the August 20, 2026 Steam countdown. Father is the final trial and has at least two phases.

What is Endless Duanzang?

A boss-stage survival mode from the Next Fest demo notes: endless waves, in-run upgrades, and one-time items. Live patches still refer to Endless Boss tiers.

Is Lord Challenge PvP?

No. Steam lists Claws Of Power as single-player. Lords, mini-bosses, and Endless Duanzang are PvE.
