Claws Of Power 5 cats to farm first
The cats we recommend to new players — accessible, efficient, useful late-game.
When you start Claws Of Power, it is tempting to aim straight for Sapphire or Magenta. Bad idea: those cats demand many hours of farm before being truly strong.
Here are 5 cats that are accessible, cheap to raise, and remain useful even in the competitive tier list.
The five cats
1. Golden Tiger — Main DPS
Why: Guaranteed drop in chapter 1, zero farm cost. Stays viable up to level 40, and beyond as a replacement leader. The cat you have on every account.
Tip: Raise him first. Golden Tigers unlock extremely early — use him as leader until level 30.
2. Persian — Heal / support
Why: First accessible heal, unlocked at level 8 via the shrine quest. The area heal saves lives on every boss up to level 60.
Tip: Do not neglect his talent tree: many players raise him only as a heal and miss the mana regeneration bonus.
3. Chartreux — Tank
Why: The most solid free tank in the game. Feline Shield absorbs the heavy hits from bosses, giving you time to position your DPS.
Tip: Ideal on the front line against AoE bosses. Keep him in all your decks until at least level 40.
4. Siamese — Magic DPS
Why: Ranged spell with a ridiculously low mana cost. You can spam it from level 5, and it remains useful in full legendary setups.
Tip: Combine it with Persian for a heal/DPS duo that works in PvE as well as in low ranked.
5. Angora — Physical DPS
Why: Doubles as physical/magic depending on the situation. If you prefer physical DPS, Angora replaces Siamese without loss of power.
Tip: His passive crit chance is underrated. Raise him to 30% crit before judging whether he is worth more than Bengal.
We do not pick 5 cats at random. Here are the three criteria applied:
- Accessibility — each must be obtainable within the first 8 hours of play, without paying.
- Late-game utility — each cat stays viable beyond level 40, even if not in tier S.
- Synergy between them — the 5 cats can form a coherent deck without farming a sixth.
If you follow this order, you will have a complete deck before the end of chapter 2.
Once these 5 cats reach 30+, you can start targeting a tier-S cat. The recommended order is:
- Sapphire — versatility first.
- Magenta — if you prefer a magic AoE build.
- Onyx — if you want a sturdier tank for difficult content.
For the tier-S detail, open S-tier cats.
With these 5 cats you can already test several archetypes. Use the Deck Builder to visualise synergies and export your composition.
How we picked these five
We picked these five cats based on three criteria: accessibility within the first 8 hours of play, late-game viability beyond level 40, and synergy with each other (the five can form a coherent deck without farming a sixth).
When to revisit this list
This list is stable across most patches, but Garlic Sprouts can shake things up with a balance patch. We revisit it whenever a major patch changes the role of any of these cats.
Once you have raised these five to level 30, transition toward S-tier cats as your long-term target.
Frequently Asked Questions
Fast answers to the questions players ask most.
Should I farm common cats to 50?
No. Raise them to 30 for normal content, then focus your resources on tier-A and S cats. Common cats are a stepping stone, not an end in themselves.
Why not Munchkin or Russian Blue on the list?
They are accessible, but their kit is too specialised to stay useful late-game. Munchkin is great at the start, but loses all value past level 25.
Can free cats beat a legendary?
On a specific fight, yes. A well-placed Golden Tiger can outperform a poorly synergistic legendary. But over time, legendaries dominate thanks to their exclusive passives.
